DESCRIPTION:\nREGISTER HERE: \n \nhttps://EstatePlannersDay2025.eventbrite.com\n \n \n \nESTATE PLANNERS' DAY 2025\n \n \n \nAttendees should arrive by 8:15 AM for check-in and breakfast - programming will begin at 9:00 AM.\n \nWhile enjoying breakfast, you will have time to meet with our sponsors, including law firms, valuation firms, advisory firms and companies that provide technological solutions for estate planning practitioners.\n \nWe will hear from Joy Matak, Esq. on several ways the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will affect estate planning. Additionally, a panel comprising practitioners from the allied professions in estate planning, including council members, will share their insights on the future of estate planning.\n \n \n \nSPEAKERS:\n \nTOPIC 1: "Advantageous Trust Planning after OB3"\n \nJoy Matak - Partner at Avelino Law, LLP in the firm’s Private Client Services\n \npractice group. With over two decades of diversified experience as a wealth transfer\n \nstrategist, Joy has an extensive background in recommending and implementing\n \nadvantageous tax strategies for multigenerational wealth families, owners of closely held\n \nbusinesses, and high net worth individuals. Adept at navigating the intricate landscape of\n \nestate and business succession, Joy crafts customized wealth transfer strategy plans to\n \naccomplish even the most complicated estate and business succession goals. She also\n \nperforms tax compliance work including gift tax, estate tax, and income tax returns for\n \ntrusts and estates as well as consulting services related to transfer tax planning, asset\n \nprotection, life insurance structuring, and post-mortem planning.\n \nA sought-after resource in her field, Joy frequently shares her insights through speaking\n \nengagements for the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section; Wealth Management\n \nMagazine; the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey; and the Society of Financial\n \nService Professionals. (LISI); and Estate Planning Review\n \nThe CCH Journal, among others, on a variety of topics including wealth transfer strategies,\n \nincome taxation of trusts and estates, and business succession planning. Joy co-authored\n \na book on the 2017 tax reforms entitled Estate Planning: Estate, Tax and Other Planning\n \nafter the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Attended Georgetown University Law Center,\n \nVermont Law School and Seton Hall.\n \n \n \nTOPIC 2: "Discussing the Future of Estate Planning"\n \nThe passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and the increase of the Federal gift and\n \nestate tax exemption to $15 million (inflation adjusted) is just one in a series of tax bills\n \nover the last 15 years that has seen the estate tax exemption reach ever greater\n \nheights. Fewer clients than ever will need estate tax planning. Though clients will\n \nalways need estate planning, many may not see the same necessity for a\n \ncomprehensive estate plan involving practitioners from the allied professions when the\n \ntax planning piece is off the table.\n \n \n \nAt the same time, technology and families are both evolving, laws are changing, and\n \npractitioners face new challenges. This leads practitioners to wonder: What is the future\n \nof the estate planning profession? What key factors are transforming our profession?\n \nHow can estate planners adapt to these forces?\n \n \n \nJoin a panel, moderated by Attorney Thomas A. Tietz, that includes members of the allied\n \nprofessions: Accountant Lisa M. Mela, Attorney Andrew J. Chamberlain, Financial\n \nAdvisor Anita Srivastava and Insurance Planner Michael B. Dranoff for a discussion on\n \nwhere they believe the profession is heading.\n \n \n \nPanel Includes:\n \n-Moderator: Thomas Tietz, Esq., Partner at Shenkman Tietz, LLP\n \n-Lisa M.
